Pre-enrollment is now open for the Summer Playwriting Workshop at Rubicon Theatre in Ventura, California:
The Summer Playwriting Workshop
June 2 – July 28, 2008
This playwriting course is designed for writers and aspiring writers at all levels.
This eight-week course will focus on the writing and rewriting process of individual stageplays. Students may begin with a brand-new idea and take the work from the outlining and structuring phase as far into the first-draft phase as they are motivated. Others may come with work already in outline or first-draft phase, and continue their process of writing and rewriting.
Work will be given informal in-class readings, with carefully monitored feedback offered. Students will have the opportunity to sharpen their ability at script analysis, and individualized dramaturgy will be offered to each student, with one-on-one feedback. Instructor will offer next-step goals to the writer, along with exercises as-needed to take projects to their next level.
