Background Info, in the Third Person

Scott Patrick Wagner is the former New Works Director for North Coast Repertory Theatre in San Diego, where he created the theater’s New Works program in conjunction with artistic director David Ellenstein. In addition to performing script analysis on hundreds of submitted scripts during his three-year tenure, Scott also conducted several dozen story conferences with promising playwrights, and produced and moderated a series of rehearsed readings of new plays, along with feedback sessions with the audiences post-performance.

Previous to that, Scott was the Director of Development for Millennium Film Corporation, a start-up film production company run by Mormons, with the great Samuel Z. Arkoff on the advisory board (providing a heightened sense of the incongruous). Scott has been the Coverage Guy for ICM on the film side, and Center Theater Group on the theater side.

Newly a resident of Ventura County, Scott provides freelance script analysis for the Boston Court Theater in Pasadena, while continuing his own writing. He is also teaching beginning and advanced playwriting classes at Ventura's Rubicon Theatre, the area's only resident professional theater company.
